The clock is ticking for the 22nd SCCA Annual Meeting scheduled for April 5-6, 2018 in Clemson. Plan to attend this educational meeting and invite a fellow cattle producer or two to come along with you. Let's all try to bring somebody.

Plans continue for the 2018 SCCA Annual Meeting in Clemson. The Best Western Hotel has been established as the headquarters. Dr. Temple Grandin begins her first session on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:00 pm followed by cattle handling demonstration at 3:00 pm and a community wide presentation at 6:00 pm. All sessions are at the Garrison Arena. Friday morning, April 6; Dr. Don Ball and Dr. Garry Lacefield will be there keynote speakers discussing forage opportunities.

Exhibit spaces are available at $350.00 (per standard 10 x 10 booth), as well as, various opportunities to sponsor meals, coffee breaks and etc. There will be an "early bird" registration for both SCCA members and non-members. A Silent Auction will take place during the Annual Meeting.

In the meantime, the SC Cattlemen's Foundation is sponsoring a raffle for a Benelli 12 ga. semi-auto shotgun. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Proceeds go toward the 2018 SCCF Youth Scholarships. Get yours today from a SCCA Board member.

Your nominations for the four SCCA "Awards of Excellence" are due by March 1, 2018. These include Cattlemen of the Year, Educator of the Year, Industry Representative of the Year and Association of the Year. Applications and descriptions are on the website ( Your association or individuals can make nominations for each award that will be presented during the Annual Meeting program. Pass the word around about these awards.

Encourage young people in your communities to apply for the four SC Cattlemen's Foundation (SCCF) Youth Scholarships. Two $2,000.00 scholarships will be awarded and two $1,000.00 scholarships. Incoming freshmen through seniors may apply. Applications for each scholarship are listed on the website

Agriculture products, gifts and etc. are being requested to donate for the Silent Auction. You can bring them with you to the meeting or contact John Irwin
